Updated on July 9, 2012

This hub is about some simple skin care tips for teenage girls that will help them fight common teenage skin problems.

To make things clear, this is not about some cosmetics that will magically vanish all skin problems; this is about personal hygiene and making some changes in your lifestyle.

The Intro

Teen age is a difficult time for the girls if you take skin problems into account. Like the school, relationships weren’t tough enough, they get skin problems. Most of the skin problems occur due to the hormone changes and though some skin problems are inevitable, teenage girls can certainly follow a skin care routine that will help reduce those skin problems. Here, you will find some skin care tips for teenage girls that is all about following some simple rules and taking care of those small things that make a difference.

A good skincare habit from the teen age will help you prevent future skin problems.

The most common teenage skin problem is acne. It is not because of the chocolates that you ate, not because of your dam care lifestyle, but as I have mentioned earlier it is because of the hormonal changes that take place in teenage years.

Don’t give too much attention on the cause of acne as changing your lifestyle and maintaining personal hygiene will help you a lot in fighting acne. If you don’t take it seriously, acne will start to spread from your face to all over your body.

The Tips

Do not touch the affected areas of your face directly with the hands; wash your face at least twice a day and use cotton napkin to wipe the water from your face. You can use lukewarm water and don’t share your napkin with others.

Avoid oil based makeup products, the facial pores can get clogged by those. And remember to wash those off before going to sleep.

Do not pick the pimples, though it is not easy but remember doing so can leave a scar in your face.

Use oil free moisturizers and use the moisturizer in the morning every day.

Eat What?

Though your diet is not the cause of those teenage skin problems, but changing to a diet that contains a lot of vegetables, fruits, whole grains will work for your skin for now and in the long run. Avoid smoking and keep your body hydrated by drinking plenty of water, general guideline is no less than 1.5 liters a day.

People would say these vitamins are good for fighting acne and those are for some other skin problems. You eat this for that and so on. But the best option is to have a balanced diet that provides you plenty of all the necessary nutrients. In that way, you won’t have to remember which food has what vitamins, which vegetable is good for what, you can try them all, and it will give your diet a lot of variations.

Back to Skin Care Tips

Do not touch your face with dirty hands; it can supply bacteria to the skin. And avoid anything that you are allergic to.

Regular exercise, well we all know the benefits.

Avoid soap to wash your face, instead use gentle facial cleaners. Soap takes away the moisture from your face.

Spa Facial Treatments?

Sometimes, you can visit some spa for teen facial treatments. You can choose a facial treatment that contains deep cleansing, facial steaming and exfoliating, masking, toning as well as moisturizing. Facial spa in NYC and in other states have special facial treatments designed for teens. It is not mandatory nor is needed too often; visiting a spa for a teen facial treatment a month should be enough.

You can seek professional advice from dermatologists or cosmetologists if you think your skin problems are getting out of hand.

All of us want to look attractive but teenage girls often find it difficult with all those skin problems. These simple skin care tips for teenage girls can be of great help to reduce those problems to minimum.
